Foreclosure Notices
Non-tax foreclosure notices are filed with the County Clerk. Tax-related foreclosure notices are handled by the Travis County Tax Office.
The Travis County Clerk posts notices of real property located in Travis County where a power of sale has been conferred by a deed of trust or other contract lien and must be presented for public sale.
The Travis County Commissioners Court declared on September 26, 2000, that the public auction of these properties shall be held on the first Tuesday of each month, at 10:00 am, on the west steps of the Travis County Courthouse located at 1000 Guadalupe Street, Austin, Texas.
Meeting and Other Official Notices
Some governmental entities and agencies may be required by law to file meeting notices with the Travis County Clerk. These notices can be viewed online.
File Notices
When submitting meeting or official notices to our office, governmental entities and agencies may deliver them to us in person at 5501 Airport Boulevard or send them by email or postal mail. As of July 15, 2011, we have discontinued the practice of accepting meeting and official legal notices by fax or in person at the Courthouse.
Emailed notices must be sent in a PDF format. If you do not already have a way to save your documents in a PDF format, you can use a search engine like Google to find free services to convert your documents.
When emailing notices, use only the email address: [email protected]. Notices sent elsewhere will not be posted.
Payment for notices submitted by email must be made with an escrow account or a credit card. Payment must be received before a notice is posted. If you wish to pay using a credit card, clearly specify this in your email. Please also provide a contact name and phone number so that a clerk can call for the credit card information. Do not include your credit card information in the email. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover credit cards. A transaction fee applies to credit card payments: $3.00 for transactions less than $100.00 or 3% for transactions of $100.00 or more.
