Commissioners Court

Request Writs, Citations, or Abstracts of Judgment
MASKS REQUIRED in all Travis County Clerk offices. All divisions are operating by appointment only at this time. Please select the division name above to learn more about making appointments.

You may submit requests for writs, citations, or abstracts of judgment to the Travis County Clerk’s Office by email, by postal mail, by courier, or in person at the Travis County Courthouse (addresses and hours of operation). We cannot accept faxed documents. There may be a fee for the service, and in most cases, these fees are not refundable.

You will be asked to provide a copy of the petition or application for each citation to be issued. Usually, a citation will be available by the next working day. Upon request, we will contact you by phone or email when the citation is ready to be picked up.

If you opt to have our office deliver the issued citation to the Constable in Travis County, you may pay the fee for this service at our Civil counter, by credit card over the phone, or by check with your request by mail.

If your private process server has a mailbox at our office, you can instruct us to leave the issued citation there for pickup.

The Travis County Clerk maintains the county's records, administers elections, and oversees legal documentation (such as property deeds, marriage licenses and assumed name certificates).
